Appeal for Donations

Unfortunately, the project in Kingston can still not be resumed. Even though the numbers in Germany are going down again at the moment, there are still no preparatory seminars taking place, which are a prerequisite for sending volunteer musicians. The project stop, which the umbrella organization Musiker ohne Grenzen has declared, will continue for the foreseeable future.

With the project pause not only the lessons are cancelled, but also a part of the financing of the project, which was normally carried by the volunteer musicians. In non-corona times we pay the salary of our project coordinator O’Shane Brown, who supervises the volunteers on site and helps them to arrive in Trenchtown.

As an association, it is important for us to be able to continue paying his salary during a crisis. At the moment we have to fall back on the savings of the association, but these are coming to an end. That’s why we are now starting a donation marathon – on Instagram! As a small thank you for your donation, we will post video clips of our project work in Trench Town every Monday and Thursday for the next few weeks to give you a concrete insight into our work. Follow us, like us and see what we have prepared for you in the coming weeks (click here to go to our page).

Donations can be made easily via the betterplace website. You can find more information under the “Donate” tab here on the homepage.

We thank you already now – every donation helps us to pay the running costs and the salary of O’Shane, so that the lessons can continue after Corona and we can play music together again in the project house.
